Happy
February!
Welcome to the
February edition of the Shannon Grissom, Artist Newsletter. This
newsletter is to provide you with tips as well as advise
you of current events, new products, and promotions.
Hosted
by the Thomas Kincaid Network, my newest web site features a
behind-the-scenes look at all of my enterprises. There are
even sections about my featured partners and the community
organizations with which I'm involved. This site is meant
to supplement my existing site,
ShannonGrissom.com. Just like my paintings, my canvas
continues to expand! To learn more about how you can
become a featured partner, please email me at

Monkey
Made of Sockies on the LPGA Tour *Photo

Daphne's Headcovers announced last week that LPGA Pro, Jennifer
Rosales, will take my Monkey Made of Sockies headcover on tour!
So, look for MMOS whenever you watch the tour live or on
television. The headcover will be released around May 1,
2008. I'll let you know as soon as it is available to the
public. For more information about Daphne's, visit
http://www.daphnesheadcovers.com.
Shannon's Music Video, "I Was Made to Cover You", Debuts at the
Sock Monkey Festival
If you heard my song on the radio, you'd think I was a woman
coaxing someone out of their shell. Once you see the video,
however, you'll realize it's much more than that. The song
is about my Monkey Made of Sockies headcover (by Daphne's
Headcovers) and how it's made to protect the golf club.
It's also about getting people off the couch on on to the golf
course.
If you
can't make it to the Sock Monkey Film Festival in Rockford, IL,
I'll send you a link to a sneak preview when it's done.
Look for it soon on the
ShannonGrissomChannel.com,
YouTube.com
and a host of other sites.
I
wrote the lyrics and music, and performed the song. But
the music was only a small part of the entire production.
The video was truly an ensemble effort. My husband,
Dwight, was very supportive and incredibly patient with my early
hour songwriting. The man patiently listened to countless
versions!
The
storyboard idea came entirely from my talented cousin, Dennis
Brooks. From the moment Dennis heard the song, he had a
vision for the pictorial aspect of the story. The video portion was brilliantly
directed, shot, edited and mixed by maestro Teresa Widdowson,
CEO of
Digital Moon Studios.
Ruth Jones was the creative production assistant and also had a
cameo. Friend, Mike Howard, also had a cameo. The
golfer was played by Bob Greene. Bob was a good sport and
really took a lot of ribbing from all of us. Special
thanks to Scott Fuller from San Juan Oaks Golf Club for letting
us film on site.

Wine
Anyone? ~ My latest release, Private Label, will be used on the
official poster and advertisements for the
San Benito
County Winegrower's Association 2008 Passport Weekend. San
Benito County's Cienega Valley produces a plethora of award-winning
wines. The wine tour during Passport Weekend is a great way to
sample them all. As for Private Label, the original is on
display at The
Inn at Tres Pinos.
